440 CHRYSLER FULL ENGINE REBUILD FOR JENSEN INTERCEPTOR

440 Chrysler big block out of a Jensen Interceptor.
The big Mopar engine started to falter on a short run and before long she was very noisy indeed and losing power.

The owner got in touch and before long the engine was here at PROBUILD AMERICAN being stripped and inspected.

It didn’t take long to see the problem was disappearing valve seats!

The engine had significant bore wear and the pistons were unusable so the decision was made to completely rebuild the engine with a rebore, new pistons, crank grind, new ARP rod bolts, resize the con rods etc. Infact we have used ARP bolts throughout the build.

In addition to the usual build parts the owner decided not to rebuild the original iron heads but to go with new aluminium Edelbrock heads, intake manifold and carburettor with a new electronic distributor.
