ROCHECSTER ‘B’ ONE BARREL CARBURETTOR REBUILD DODGE 6 FLATHEAD TRUCK

Dodge truck with a straight 6 flathead was suffering from flooding issues so the owner asked if we could check the carburettor over and see what we could do with it.

We stripped it down and checked it over, two main problems were one float was holed and full of petrol and the second fault was the accelerator pump leather seal was almost gone. It was also full of at least 50 years of dirt and debris.

After stripping the Rochester ‘B’ all parts were dropped into the heated sonic cleaner and left for a day.

The next day all parts were removed from the cleaning solution, thoroughly washed and inspected, everything was OK so the carb’ was rebuilt using new parts and in particular a new float assembly.
